Requirements
A person must be at least 21 years of age to rent a boat in Florida and have a major credit card to rent the boat on their own.
Per our company policy, anyone renting and paying for the rental must have photo ID and a major credit card.
We do not hold any deposit amount on your card but we may check for funds available of $1000
ANYONE BORN BEFORE 1988 DOES NOT NEED THE BOATING SAFETY CERTIFICATE! ( BOATERS LICENSE)
Temporary Certificate exams are valid for 12 months from the issue date.
If you were born after 1987 and plan to drive the boat, you need the Boating Safety Certificate. Passengers do not need a Boating Safety Certificate.
To get your temporary boaters safety certificate, follow this link to complete the online exam. https://www.boat-ed.com/floridarental/. There are 2 options. $3 for one chance to pass with no study material or $9.99 to receive study material and unlimited chances to pass. This must be completed prior to your rental day and the printed certificate must be with you on the boat along with photo ID. This rental exam is valid for 90 days.
A person must be at least 14 years of age to operate any vessel 10 horse power or greater. They must also have a photo ID and a Boating Safety ID card.
